Workshops

Here are listings of past, ongoing and future workshop offerings.

This is a 6 week offering for an introduction to Gestalt Therapy as not just a psychotherapeutic modality but also a way of being: a methodology of observing experience and making meaning of it. We will look at Gestalt politics+history, awareness as a continuum, contact+boundaries, boundary disturbances and creativity; these will be engaged with as theories and concepts, but we will also experiment with them as living and experiential phenomena.
Who is this for?
Primarily for mental health practitioners, but anyone who “holds space” and offers emotional labour on a regular basis (activists, teachers, care-givers, artists).
Schedule: 6 Weeks Starting October 23rd 2020
Fridays 6pm-8pm: Exploring concepts, frameworks, applications.
Saturdays 10am-11:30am: Collective awareness practice.
This 6-week online workshop (co-facilitated by Rheea Rodrigues Mukherjee and myself) will be looking at constructs of gender, time, love, personality, and social justice. We’ll be using tools from gestalt therapy, creative writing, collective feedback
and critical imagination.
this class will be meaningful for people who are:
-Uncomfortable with the stories we’ve been fed as ‘normal’ and unquestionable
– People who are longing for a learning space that non-hierarchically supports imagining alternate futures
– People who look at differences as a place to grow/expand
-People who want to engage with curiosities normally reserved for academic and institutionalized spaces.
This class will be on 6 Fridays from 5:00pm to 7:30pm starting on September 4th. Fees are 12,000 INR and we have two reserved Pay-As-You-Can spots.

We will use creative writing and gestalt therapy techniques as tools to channel our emotions, find clarity, discuss the burdens we carry in this political climate and aim to empower participants with optimistic resistance and solidarity. No writing experience required, just a lot of heart and purpose.
